The Cotton Patch

Last week I was craving a huge burger around lunchtime, so my friends and I decided to head out downtown for lunch. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d eaten at The Cotton Patch, so we decided to give it a try.  The Cotton Patch has been a fixture in downtown for as long as I can remember.  They are in the heart of downtown, right off Reynolds Street and within walking distance from a lot of business and attractions, like Riverwalk.

My De-licious Burger & Fries

Our server Nick was really friendly and took great care of us. I chose a Signature Handmade Burger with fries and it did not disappoint.  It was cooked perfectly and with plenty of extra pickle spears for me.  My friends had chicken & dumplings, fried green tomatoes, a fried catfish sandwich, and chicken fingers, so we had a wide variety of foods at the table to try.

Fish Sandwich with Fries

Everything was delicious and served pretty quickly.  We made it in and out of the restaurant in less than an hour, which is very important for a lunch restaurant! If only we had time for 2 hour lunches…

All in all it was a great experience and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, tasty, casual lunch in downtown Augusta.

French Market Grille

On a recent Friday night, a friend and I decided to meet for dinner at the French Market Grille West. This is a great restaurant that offers delicious food, drinks, specials, friendly staff, and even entertainment.

They are known as a cajun restaurant with a casual atmosphere. They offer two locations, The French Market Grille, located in Surrey Center, and the French Market Grille West, located off of Fury’s Ferry Road.

Through dinner we enjoyed listening to the jazz music play as we ate our meal. I had the shrimp po boy-my personal favorite-and it never lets me down!

French Market also has specials every night of the week, so any night is a great time to check it out!. They were also voted  “Best Augusta Restaurant” 17 years in a row! Now that has to mean something-go out and visit!

Tasty Seafood and Burgers in Augusta

Rhineharts is a local restaurant that offers the BEST seafood and hamburgers in town! It is a very casual resort-like restaurant that is a great place to get some great food and cold beverages. My husband and I eat here once a week and really enjoy the food and atmosphere! We love to sit outside at the picnic tables and enjoy our meal.

This is a great place to eat all the time-but we especially enjoy it in the summer! They have two locations-one on Washington Road and another location in Evans, so you are never far from a delicious, casual meal. They also have specials every night, including drink specials. Make sure you stop by to eat at this unique local restaurant-enjoy!!!

Crab King in Augusta

I LOVE crab legs! It’s not something I usually like to order when I go out to a restaurant, though.  When I order crab legs I want to eat them and not worry about how messy it is while I’m enjoying my meal.  When my son and I get a taste for some delicious crab legs, we usually go to Crab King on Milledgeville Road.  We particularly like the Garlic Snow Crab Tray.

They have shrimp and fish, and a lot of other good stuff on the menu but, their name is Crab King, and that is really what they do best!

Ashley’s Fish and Seafood

Hungry and want a down home dining experience? Try Ashley’s Fish and Seafood Restaurant! They serve an extensive menu of wonderful fresh and hot seafood entrees. My family and had a great dining experience last Friday for dinner. My husband and I enjoyed their catfish plate which included fish, shrimp, fried okra and hush puppies. My children always enjoy the fish dinner with fries and hush puppies and iced cold tea to drink.

The desserts are a wonderful selection of pound cake, red velvet cake and pies. The food is good and tasty, and the hospitality of the owner Curtis Butler, and his staff is the reason why customers come back time and time again. Go and experience the atmosphere for yourself.  I am sure you will like it!
