Cheddar’s Casual Cafe
Last weekend some friends and I went searching for great tasting food offered at an affordable price. Where did we end up? Cheddar’s! The restaurant is fairly new to the Augusta area. It has only been open for a little over a year, but it’s fantastic food and reasonable prices keep this restaurant packed.

Cheddar's

Cheddar’s is a casual dining experience. They have inside and outside seating available, a full bar with inexpensive drink options (my favorite is the Sangria Margarita) and an extensive food menu offering: appetizers, soups, salads, chicken, burgers, steaks, cold and hot sandwiches, desserts and a kid’s menu for the little ones. And you MUST try their flakey, honey-buttery croissants!

We started the night off with some of their tasty appetizers. We choose the Santa Fe Spinach Dip, it’s a mix of spinach, sour cream, a blend of Southwestern spices and fours cheeses. It’s served with their homemade salsa and crispy tortilla chips.

We also ordered the Texas Cheese fries, made with A large portion of crispy golden French fries loaded with melted  cheeses and crispy bacon. Perfect for dipping in their homemade buttermilk ranch dressing.

Then it was finally time for the main course! I decided to try their Grilled Chicken Alfredo with fresh garden vegetables. I followed my server’s recommendation and ordered a side of marinara sauce and it was delicious!

My friend Sarah ordered the chicken tender and steak combo, center cut top sirloin with hand-breaded chicken tenders, and for her sides she choose a baked potato and a bowl of rice and beans. It was all fantastic!

I will definitely be going back to Cheddar’s very soon! The portions are large enough that we were able to take some home for lunch the next day. Large portions, fabulous food and low prices? It’s a no brainer! Try it for yourself.

The Chop House

This great steakhouse located at the Promenade at the Augusta Mall is a wonderful restaurant you must try!

This restaurant offers a great variety of everything on their menu. They are known for their well marinated steaks-which are just fabulous! I also really enjoy their salads-they are always fresh and have the best ingredients! Don’t forget dessert either, they offer great choices-but their chocolate cake with ice cream is worth feeling miserable after all that good food!

The service here has always been wonderful too, they really know how to take care of their customers with wonderful service and a smile on their faces!

The other great thing is they will take reservations. If you have a larger party, or if you don’t, you can still call and reserve a table, which is a nice service they offer! Even if you do have to wait for a little while, you can shop at the mall, and then head over for a fabulous meal!

Grab a pizza and a movie

The perfect date night-or night with friends! My husband and I recently went on a pizza/movie date night. We headed over the Augusta Exchange Shopping Center one Friday evening. We decided that we would check out Roma’s Pizza right across from the Regal Cinemas movie Theater. We each ordered a slice(which is the size of two normal slices) of the New York style pizza with our favorite topping, ordered drinks, and it was under $10! The pizza was fresh and tasted great! This place gets crowded quick-but it was still easy to get our food and grab a table.

After enjoying our tasty and cheap pizza, we headed over to Regal Cinemas to check out a movie. This was a fun date for us that we really enjoyed! There are also many other restaurants near the theater if you are looking for dinner and a movie. Nearby is, The Carolina Ale House, Logan’s, Chili’s, O’Charlie’s, Macaroni Grill and even Chick-fil-la! So, depending on what type of mood you’re in, there are many great places to eat before heading to the movies! Also, next to Roma’s Pizza is a new frozen yogurt place, Tutti Frutti, which looks delicious! There are many great places to check out in Augusta for a date night, or night out with friends!

Rhinehart’s – It’s Beyond Casual

This casual seafood restaurant is by far one of my favorite places to eat in Augusta, and one of the most unique “hole in the wall” places to visit! Don’t let the run down beach shack feel scare you from the outside-because it is truly one of Augusta’s gems!

Rhineharts gives you that casual, laid back, beach good feeling! They have the BEST fried shrimp-I think it’s even better than at the beach! They have a variety of wonderful seafood on their menu such as oysters, po boys, crab legs, fish and so much more. They also have other varieties of food, such as the best hamburger and homemade french fries in town!

They offer specials everyday for lunch and dinner-my personal fave is their Monday night special, $2.99 dozen boiled shrimp-you can’t beat the price or the taste anywhere!

Dining is inside or outside-however I recommend sitting outside at the picnic tables and enjoying this beautiful spring weather in Augusta! Take the entire family and friends and enjoy this great atmosphere, food, and fun!

Where East Meets West

TakoSushi

I went to dinner with a group of friends and we decided to go to Tako Sushi. The atmosphere is awesome and the waiters are very knowledge about the different types of sushi. I am not a fan of sushi so I had the Fire Cracker Shrimp which came with Asian Salad and Rice.
If you like spicy food you will like this dish. For you sushi lovers, the Hawaiian Roll and California Rolls are great! If you want to try something different, you may want to try the Sushi Sashimi, it’s unlike anything you have ever tasted.
