Cheddar’s Casual Cafe
Last weekend some friends and I went searching for great tasting food offered at an affordable price. Where did we end up? Cheddar’s! The restaurant is fairly new to the Augusta area. It has only been open for a little over a year, but it’s fantastic food and reasonable prices keep this restaurant packed.

Cheddar’s is a casual dining experience. They have inside and outside seating available, a full bar with inexpensive drink options (my favorite is the Sangria Margarita) and an extensive food menu offering: appetizers, soups, salads, chicken, burgers, steaks, cold and hot sandwiches, desserts and a kid’s menu for the little ones. And you MUST try their flakey, honey-buttery croissants!

We started the night off with some of their tasty appetizers. We choose the Santa Fe Spinach Dip, it’s a mix of spinach, sour cream, a blend of Southwestern spices and fours cheeses. It’s served with their homemade salsa and crispy tortilla chips.

We also ordered the Texas Cheese fries, made with A large portion of crispy golden French fries loaded with melted  cheeses and crispy bacon. Perfect for dipping in their homemade buttermilk ranch dressing.

Then it was finally time for the main course! I decided to try their Grilled Chicken Alfredo with fresh garden vegetables. I followed my server’s recommendation and ordered a side of marinara sauce and it was delicious!

My friend Sarah ordered the chicken tender and steak combo, center cut top sirloin with hand-breaded chicken tenders, and for her sides she choose a baked potato and a bowl of rice and beans. It was all fantastic!

I will definitely be going back to Cheddar’s very soon! The portions are large enough that we were able to take some home for lunch the next day. Large portions, fabulous food and low prices? It’s a no brainer! Try it for yourself.

Grab a pizza and a movie

The perfect date night-or night with friends! My husband and I recently went on a pizza/movie date night. We headed over the Augusta Exchange Shopping Center one Friday evening. We decided that we would check out Roma’s Pizza right across from the Regal Cinemas movie Theater. We each ordered a slice(which is the size of two normal slices) of the New York style pizza with our favorite topping, ordered drinks, and it was under $10! The pizza was fresh and tasted great! This place gets crowded quick-but it was still easy to get our food and grab a table.

After enjoying our tasty and cheap pizza, we headed over to Regal Cinemas to check out a movie. This was a fun date for us that we really enjoyed! There are also many other restaurants near the theater if you are looking for dinner and a movie. Nearby is, The Carolina Ale House, Logan’s, Chili’s, O’Charlie’s, Macaroni Grill and even Chick-fil-la! So, depending on what type of mood you’re in, there are many great places to eat before heading to the movies! Also, next to Roma’s Pizza is a new frozen yogurt place, Tutti Frutti, which looks delicious! There are many great places to check out in Augusta for a date night, or night out with friends!

Tutti Frutti

I was leaving the gym with my sister and we stumbled across a new frozen yogurt shop called Tutti Frutti. I felt like a kid in a candy store when we walked in. There is a large selection of frozen yogurts to choose from including almond, mango, green apple, cheesecake and several others. Then you have the toppings.

You could go healthy and choose from the fruit selection, or pick from the cereals, candy and other non traditional toppings.  They also give samples of the yogurt when you walk in. I had green apple and cheesecake yogurt and added strawberries, cheesecake pieces and granola.

My sister had cheesecake and mango yogurt and added cheesecake pieces and love letter straws.  You pick your cup size, then your yogurt and toppings, and then you weigh and pay.

In addition to yogurt, they also have a selection of candy that can be purchased by the ounce.  If you want to get creative with your dessert, this is the place to go! I’ve been back twice already!

Rhinehart’s – It’s Beyond Casual

This casual seafood restaurant is by far one of my favorite places to eat in Augusta, and one of the most unique “hole in the wall” places to visit! Don’t let the run down beach shack feel scare you from the outside-because it is truly one of Augusta’s gems!

Rhineharts gives you that casual, laid back, beach good feeling! They have the BEST fried shrimp-I think it’s even better than at the beach! They have a variety of wonderful seafood on their menu such as oysters, po boys, crab legs, fish and so much more. They also have other varieties of food, such as the best hamburger and homemade french fries in town!

They offer specials everyday for lunch and dinner-my personal fave is their Monday night special, $2.99 dozen boiled shrimp-you can’t beat the price or the taste anywhere!

Dining is inside or outside-however I recommend sitting outside at the picnic tables and enjoying this beautiful spring weather in Augusta! Take the entire family and friends and enjoy this great atmosphere, food, and fun!

My grandmother turned 80 in February. As a family, we wanted to celebrate such a huge milestone. We decided to have dinner at T-Bonz.

The restaurant offers a private room that seats 30 to 40 people. If you don’t like steak, that’s ok. They have a variety of items to choose from, which are also very kid friendly.

If you do like steak, you’ve come to the right place. They cook it just the way you like it. You must try the Tommy Fries ( their version of cheese fries). You have your steak fries covered in cheese and bacon with ranch dressing! They are the ultimate comfort food and are to die for!

I will definitely be going back again.
